10.02.10 – Who hasn’t dreamed of cutting out from the office some afternoon for a hike in the forest or wilderness? We have. So in collaboration with with Norway’s finest, SMFB, we brought the awe-inspiring trail right to your screen.
Experience the beauty of untouched nature, the great Norwegian tradition of going off on a hike in the wilderness to lift your spirits. And really the most perfect companion on any hike is the Kvikk Lunsj chocolate bar that has helped give energy to hikers since 1937.
Together with SMFB we created a community where you can share your favorite hike trail with other enthusiasts. Take a look at, and grade, other users’ favorite hikes or create your very own. Along the way you get tips on sites and suitable resting places.
We built a custom user interface to make it easy for users to create and share their hikes in a comprehensible package. This involved advanced features like trail map plotting, hotspot detailing and the capacity to make use of high resolution panoramas on your hikes. To further promote and inspire people to contribute to the site we also shot and produced a number of enhanced custom hikes. These custom hikes were shot with a unique setup consisting of a time-lapse steadicam rig. This proved to be enormously challenging since the hikes were often 7-8 hours long. Along the way we also shot specific panoramic images and used secondary crew to make the assets blend together totally seamlessly.
