Johan Kling’s film Darling, about the spoiled Michelle and the unemployed Bernard’s impossible friendship was one of the most talked about and acclaimed Swedish debut of all time. It was praised by Dagens Nyheter (Sweden’s largest daily newspaper) to “the best Swedish film of the decade” and Darling was the most awarded film in 2007, with awards such as – winner of the Nordic Film Prize, winner of Greta (Swedish film critics association’s price), winner of two Guldbaggar (the Swedish National Film Award) and nominated for 5.
